Have yourself a very Happy Christmas and count your blessings and be thankful. May you all reap the fruits of your hard work in hundredfold blessing. Somehow, not only for Christmas but all the long year through, the Joy that you give to others comes back to you. And the more you spend is blessing, the poor, marginalized, lonely and sad, the more of your hearts possessing returns to your glad.
It is heartwarming to know that once again you have collected incredible amount for our girl's education. Our dear friend Gabriele informed us that, you have collected this huge amount by running according to your age, and your parents have contributed this amount for your efforts for a philanthropic cause. And also our very BIG THANKS to Fridolfing School which organized exhibitions, sale on school annual day and other occasions.
All our girls and sisters have extended enormous gratitude to the students, parents, teachers and the management. God Bless you little students it is awesome to hear from Gabriele that the students have cultivated the attitude of helping the less privileged students.
In Anugraha (Grace of God) currently there are 39 girls who are schooling. We all passed the mid- term exams. After that we had short Dassehra holidays and we went to meet our parents. Most of our parents who own a very small plot of land had enormous difficulties because of the bad weather this year; the drought type situation is prevailing in north Karnataka where most of us come from. The paddy or rice which was sown did not grow up and it is cut either burnt or given to the animals. Many of our parents are also working on daily wages for Rs. 150/- per day which is very little. But due to drought jobs are also not available for our parents in our areas and so they are forced to migrate to other cities or towns to earn the daily bread.
During the year apart from the academics Anugraha sisters organise various activities and competitions, yoga, meditations, celebration of various festivals and occasions, organised various input sessions. The Home curriculum also includes Home science, i.e. gardening, cooking, household chores, knitting and exploring their talents and skills in craft, drawing and leadership qualities.
We take this opportunity to thank Gabriele and LIFT partners for their initiative and constancy for the financial assistance. One thing with pride WE can say that LIFT has gone above and beyond by helping YOUNG GIRLS get back to a better level of life. Again, Thank You, and We will keep you in my prayers.
